-    I’ve been absent lately for good reason.  The dog ate my homework---not really, but I’ve always wanted to say that.  Actually the main database program I use for my blogs, background, notes, and work-in-progress failed.  It deleted all my work for 2009 and part of 2008.  I don’t know what happened.  Since my backups are done daily, the bad database was copied.  There was no sign of the later files anywhere on my disk.  I called the software provider and was told that the program couldn’t do that.  It must be my fault.  I disagree.  The only problem I had was with that particular program.  Nothing else was damaged.  So what am I to think?  Get a different program that’s what.  In any case, all my WIP is gone, as are my notes.  So, I have to start from scratch.

-    Our National debt keeps growing.  We suffered an October deficit of $176 billion---hey!  That’s in just one month!   With the increase in socialist programs, we’re going to be saddling more and more generations with the cost of our mistakes.  The House bill for Obamacare is set for a $1.3 trillion in the future [ten years I think].  But in addition to that, we’ll be paying more in taxes; more in insurance premiums; more for pacemakers, wheelchairs and other medical devices [partially via a tax]; more for goods and services---the list goes on.  And does anyone think the bill for all this will be what’s stated?  Wanna buy a bridge in NYC?  How much are we prepared to pay to socialize everything?  We’re being taxed unconscionably every day, and at some point the whole shebang will collapse.  Is that all the Hope recently voted for?

It reminds me of the old joke based on the “No taxation without representation” call during the revolution.  “If you think taxation without representation was bad, just look at it with representation.”

-    Nancy Pelosi is looking positively skeletal lately.  At certain angles, she shows deeply sunken eyes and more than usual signs of aging and wear and tear.  I guess her botox is wearing off.  At what point will her horns be showing?

-    Obama finally visited Fort Hood to show empathy and console survivors and the families of the dead.  He went because he had to in order to show empathy and shore up his failing Presidency.  He also went for the photo ops.  But don’t for one second believe he went because he wanted to.  He’s a confirmed socialist, and his actions and policies show him to be anti-military in all respects---except maybe to protect his butt and those of his family.

-    Obama has now rejected all four alternatives for additional troops to be sent to Afghanistan.  He wants changes to those alternatives based on the comments of our ambassador to Afghanistan, his own flawed beliefs, and the obvious continued corruption in the Karzai administration.  So, this is what it means: continued troop deaths in Afghanistan; probable re-introduction of the Taliban; downfall of Karzai in favor of the Taliban; continued training of terrorists; and more terror activity in the US and against American interests abroad.  Our forces would be leaving the Country with tails between legs and another Obama scar on our reputation home and abroad.  So, we can expect many more American deaths as Obama---the anti-military socialist with a radical bent---moves to defang the entire American Worldwide experience.

-    So now ACORN is suing the government to get its funding back.  I always thought you couldn’t sue the government.  It seems to me if the Congress can provide funds to a specific entity, it can also cut them off from that same entity.  This is what happened.  Some in Congress are calling for a detailed investigation into ACORN activities.  Personally, I think ACORN should be prosecuted, fined and shuttered under the RICO statutes.

Back in the 1980s, we had a strong President in Ronald Reagan who re-built the Country's defenses after the debacle of Jimmy Carter.  It cost money, but it was necessary.  His depiction of the USSR as an evil empire was right on the money.  Between his rhetoric and his efforts at defense, the USSR went bankrupt and ultimately dissolved during the George H W Bush administration.  As a Country, we were the sole superpower, and we received respect and relative safety from the rest of the World's crazies.

Another Democrat Presidency in the Bill Clinton duo reduced our strength and respect around the World.  The situation emboldened our enemies [we have and always will have enemies] to such an extent that an attack was successfully launched against us in the USA itself.  That led to a War on Terror, for that is what it was: we were faced with a declaration of War by an insidious group of terroristic radicals under the guise of religion.

And what a religion!  It's one which holds that all non-adherents are infidels, and they must be destroyed.  It's a 'religion'---no, I believe it's just a cult.  Strong, fanatical, and widespread, yes.  But just a cult---not of peace, but of control, misogyny, lack of personal freedom and rights, and no desire for compromise.  We can do nothing to appease the radical Islamists.  We're the Great Satan, and our existence is not to be tolerated.

If these terror bearers can't do it from without, they'll try to do it from within.  They demand more accommodations for their practices and training, and stupidly we give it to them.  Christianity is anathema to the ACLU and public schools, but Islam isn't.  Doesn't that begin to scare your neurons?

Leading up to this War on Terror, and after an 8 year war between a dictator and a theocracy in the Middle East, we freed Kuwait of an invasion by Saddam Hussein and his minions, beating the latter back to Bagdad.

But, Iraq broke its treaties, harbored terrorists and amassed weapons of mass destruction---yes, it had the latter.  But they were transferred to Syria and beyond before we could inspect the area.  Iraq of the time harbored and trained and cooperated with terrorists, as did Afghanistan.  So, we set out to bring the War to the combined participants.  We destroyed the administration of dictator and murderer Saddam Hussein and allowed Democracy to gain a hold.  But, we need stability in the area, so we remain a presence.

In Afghanistan, we are fighting a terror network which was destroying the Afghan culture, training terrorists, and exporting terror throughout the World.  This network was hiding the mastermind of the terror network which had attacked our New York City.  We remain in battle against this element.  But it isn't easy because of the culture and terrain and Liberal politics.

In the meantime, there have been no major terror attacks in the United States because of our policy of strength and retaliation.  We have been bringing the battles to the enemies' strongholds.

But in recent years, we've allowed the Liberal faction of our Country to hold sway, thus our Country's strength and prestige has dwindled.  We have a closet Islamicist as President.  We've changed terminology.  The War on Terror is now 'Overseas Contingency Operation.' 

In fact, from an administration official we recent heard something akin to gobbledygook: ...”Craig Duehring, assistant secretary of the Air Force for manpower, said in congressional testimony: 'Key battlefield monetary incentives [have] allowed the Air Force to meet the demands of overseas contingency operations even as requirements continue to grow.'”

We have other changes.  'Jihadist' or 'mujahideen' have been replaced by 'violent extremist.'  Also banned was the term 'Islamo-fascist' on the basis that it's offensive to the enemy.

Since our current President took office:
He has announced the closing of Guantanamo, thus releasing many terrorists to other countries, including island paradises.
Refused to prosecute the mastermind behind the bombing of the USS Cole, an act resulting in the loss of American lives.
Closed all overseas interrogation centers of the CIA.
Appointed a questionable Attorney General with Communist tendencies
His first television interview was with Al Arabia
His first telephone contacts with a foreign leader were with Fatah Party leader and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbass.
With no strings attached, the President has allocated $20 million in 'post-conflict humanitarian aid' to Palestine refugees and conflict victims in Gaza.  This brings the total to $60 million in US commitments to Gaza.
Has allowed his appointees to inject racism into the National discourse in areas not having racist overtones or undertones.
Has cosied up to Communist dictator Chavez in Venezuela.
Has opposed the legal and constitutional ousting of a dictator-to-be in Honduras.
Has tepidly criticized the Scots for releasing the only convicted terrorist in the Lockerbie bombing.  Instead of life, this guy was incarcerated for only 8 years, an insult to millions of people.  And of course, when he returned to Libya he received a hero's welcome.

We have been permitting this Islamic cult to practice in the United States, allowing numerous Mosques throughout the Country.  Nevermind that brainwashing and terrorist training taking place in such environments.  We're told we have to be tolerant and hospitable.  I wonder what the reaction would have been to allowing Nazis to build training centers and brainwashing facilities throughout the United States during WWII?  Merge with the invaders and be the lesser for it?

We have---and ACLU is noticeably absent from the outrage---a San Diego School which has set aside about 15 minutes of the class day for Muslim students to pray---but God forbid that a Christian wants to do the same thing.  This school's cafeteria has banned pork and other foods not in the Islamic diet.  Study of Arabic has been added with Taliban appropriate segregation of boys and girls.
And remember, the Pledge of Allegiance is still banned as brainwashing.

The current President has permitted deficits of over a $trillion for the years into the future; spent us into bankruptcy that our descendents will be stuck with; has a healthcare proposal that will ruin the finest health care system in the World.  Some of the funding for this proposal will come from cuts in Medicare and Medicaid, thus on the backs of the poor and elderly.

Illegal aliens won't be covered, says our President, so he proposes to make all illegal aliens legal so they can participate.  Merge with the invaders again?

And of course, the President and Congress won't be relegated to this bourgeoisie type of health care.  They'll get the finest.  And they'll use their influence to demand it---now!  Does anyone dispute the idea that the races for Congressional seats will be strongly influenced by the desire to get away from Obamacare?

Meanwhile, the Social Security system is headed toward bankruptcy and Congress and the President continue to ignore it.  Remember, the Social Security trust is a file cabinet of IOUs from Congress.  Perhaps Sandy Berger should be examining the files for the President and Congress so a reduction of IOUs can be claimed?

Indeed, Holy Terror, Batman!  Holy Medical Terror, Batman!  Holy Bankruptcy, Batman!

Me: According to Rasmussen Reports, General Motors is now promising a 60-day money-back guarantee to all purchasers of its cars and trucks.  The government pretty much owns GM now, and the President felt it necessary to roll a head or two in his effort to not intervene in the private sector.  But I wish that we had had a similar guarantee, say a year, for the Presidential administration.  In that case, we could return the Obama crew to whence they came.

In his effort to keep religion out of our lives and that of the federal government, President Obama has praised Islam as it enters the fasting month of Ramadan.  Unfortunately, he's only praising the adversary.  Obama seems to be on the right course for welcoming the enemy to our dinner table and giving him our weapons, our daughters and our freedoms.  At some point, I expect him to start spouting Sharia law. 

Due to the left, it's mandatory to keep all religion out of the White House---except of course, Islam.  This is the loony all you leftists stuck us with.  Congratulations to you for sending this person to Washington to spin lies while the Country and culture face destruction.

Obama said Ramadan's rituals are a reminder of the principles Muslims and Christians have in common, including advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.  Is he for real?  Islam is still in the 7th Century.  And the stated and often spouted tenet of Islam is death to the infidel---not to mention the subservience of women.  And the infidel is defined as any non-muslim.  The western world has already faced the Muslim spread Islam by-the-sword hundreds of years ago.  Charles Martel stopped them in France.

Me:  Where will he fly them for treatment once he destroys the quality of American Medicine?  Kenya?  Canada?  Great Britain?

Me again: Is any of this a surprise to sane Americans?  Warnings about these socialist plans for health care as to be expected from an Obama administration were given constantly during the Presidential campaign.  Yet, the amateur Obama was elected.  How?  Some Democrats always vote for the Democrat no matter who he is or what he might do.  Others believed the palpable nonsense of Hope and Change his teleprompters spouted.  [Well, they got it alright.  Change downward is still a change.]  Others didn't like McCain.  And sadly, others voted for him simply because he was black.  Yes, they are racists.  It's a fact and should be considered.  So, now we all suffer from a self-bloated and grossly interventionist government.  This tragedy can be traced to the interfering Democrats in Congress, especially from 2006 to the present.  Notably among the disaster meisters are Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, John Murtha, Ted Kennedy RIP, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid---and that's just the tip of the iceberg.  Are we headed for another revolution?  Possibly.  Who knows?  The American people are being pushed until their backs hit a wall.  We have to keep fighting the current Congress and President.  In 2010 we should remove all 435 House members and a third of the Senate.  In 2012, we should put a Conservative in the White House to start cleaning up the mess and replace another third of the Senate.  By 2014, we can vote out the remainder of the Senate and hopefully be on our way to some semblance of order.

Recently in my email I received the below Ten Commandments from the Patriot Update.  Here they are below with my commentary on the sources and other things.

“After observing Obama on the campaign trail and during his first six months in office, we have concluded that our President lives and governs according to his own set of "Ten Commandments." They're certainly NOT the Ten Commandments you learned in Sunday school. In fact, many are the direct opposite! To prove that our conclusions are correct, you will find a link to source documentation for each commandment on the Patriot Update web site.

I Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) [“Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama tells CBN news that 'America is no longer just a Christian nation' and laid out ways both religious conservatives and liberals can begin to find common ground.'  Senator Obama made that statement by email in response to questions by CBN News' Senior National Correspondent David Brody. He told Brody that liberals need to understand that Government can't fix certain problems. Instead they need to recognize the moral component.”  TNM: This is a case of avoiding a direct answer.  This country began as a Judeo-Christian society with due respect for minority beliefs.  It was built upon the ideas of freedom from government interference and the Bill of Rights.  The country should still be guided by Judeo-Christian principles, and not by hatred, wealth distribution, misogyny, socialism, and power-greed.  Our basic freedoms are granted by God {not Obama} and only guaranteed by the government.  And such a guarantee applies to every citizen.  Though sometimes called Obamessiah and given religious-like veneration from the Liberals and Media, we all know that no politician---especially Obama---has anything like the true aura.  From a recent joke:  God and Obama are similar in having no birth certificate; the difference between them is that God doesn't think he's Obama.]

II Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore. [TNM: With all due respect Patriot Depot, I read its source about Obama's visit to Mt Rushmore, I didn't see anything there to show hubris on his part.  When a reporter asked a question about his being on Mt Rushmore:  "I don't think my ears would fit," Obama said, laughing. "There's only so much rock up there."  No, Obama would more prefer his face on the new, inflation-ated five dollar bill and on numerous memorials around the country.]

III Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama. [TNM: This ban seems to have been started by John McCain [he has a PC streak at times]; the source herein given [Time CNN from February 2008] has no quotes or analysis of Obama saying anything about his middle name---though his supporters and perhaps his campaign staff seem to have followed up on it.  Maybe he did direct it to be done, but there's no smoking gun that I can see.  Though for sure, Obama has pointedly kept his Muslim middle name in the background.]

IV Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy. [TNM: This source is a speech by Obama on April 15, 2009.  Although he never comes out and says the day is holy, he spends most of his time reading from the teleprompters about all the great things he's doing for American workers:  he's providing tax cuts for 95% of them---though a far less percentage of them actually pay taxes; he claims he's providing tax cuts for small businesses, when in fact small businesses are closing all over the place because of his taxes and other poison pills for the economy.  If he gets his health care plan established: he'll destroy the American health care system; taxes will go up substantially as health care becomes less and less available---except for illegal aliens; taxes and government mandates [health insurance etc.] will destroy many more small business or reduce the everyday workforce.  Remember, most of the jobs in America are created by small business.  And speaking of holy:  the Obamas have taken a lot of time to pick a church to attend in Washington.  I think the difficulty was that Obama was looking for another pastor Wright and couldn't find him.] 
V Honour thy father and thy mother until they are too old and sick to care for. They will cost our public-funded health-care system too much money. [The source is an article in Red State by Todd Huston on June 25: “Obama said during the ABC Special on Wednesday night that a way to save healthcare costs is to abandon the sort of care that “evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve” the patient's health. He went on to say that he had personal familiarity with such a situation when his grandmother broke her hip after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  Obama offered a question on the efficacy of further care for his grandmother saying, 'and the question was, does she get hip replacement surgery, even though she was fragile enough they were not sure how long she would last?'  But who is it that will present the “evidence” that will “show” that further care is futile? Are we to believe that Obama expects individual doctors will make that decision in his bold new government controlled healthcare future? If he is trying to make that claim it is a flat out untruth and he knows it.”  TNM: It should be a great concern to we Americans that Obama thinks so little of our older folks.  I think that's a product of his socialism, messiah complex, and immaturity, and probably imbecility.  So this health care mogul is some one to fear.  We can't afford his destructive health-care system.]
VI Thou shalt not kill, unless you have an unwanted, unborn baby. For it would be an abomination to punish your daughter with a baby. [per the Catholic News Agency in April 2008:  “While addressing a campaign rally in Pennsylvania last weekend, Sen. Obama said, 'When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include -- which should include abstinence education and teaching the children -- teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual," he said.  "But it should also include -- it should also include other, you know, information about contraception because, look, I've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old,' he added. 'I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby,' Obama said.”  TNM: Firstly, this is an example of Obama speaking without a teleprompter.  Secondly, it's clear that he considers a baby---from the miracle of birth---to be a punishment.  Would that his family thought the same thing about him back in Kenya.  They could have terminated him in the womb or sold him to the local witch doctor.]

VII Thou shalt not commit adultery if you are conservative or a Republican. Liberals and Democrats are hereby forgiven for all of their infidelity and immorality, but the careers of conservatives will be forever destroyed. [TNM: The source is an article by Chad Groening on the Patriot Update, but much of the same information is available in other media outlets.  Gov Stanford of South Carolina is getting skewered for his activities with the unfairer sex.  The only reason he hasn't been more in the news is the death of Michael Jackson.  Inordinate and disgusting coverages of Jackson have been helpful to Stanford.  However in the past, any indiscretion by a Conservative or Republican has led to a long term repetition and expansion from the media.  But those of Democrats and Liberals have been glossed over.  At this modern date, it's common knowledge about extra-marital sex romps of Ted {the Swimmer} Kennedy [now RIP], Chris Dodd, and other Democrats.  One was caught romping in a Washington fountain with his mistress.  Barney Frank's companion ran a male prostitution ring in Frank's basement.  Robert Byrd is a former KKK big shot; then there are the Democrat apologists for Bill Clinton.  Teddy the Swimmer left a woman to drown at Chappaquiddick Bay while he swam home to set up an alibi.  The list goes on.  Conservatives and Republicans get fried in the press; Democrats and Liberals get minor coverage. {I'm sorry Ted Kennedy is dead, but that does nothing to alleviate his culpability for murderous and frightening actions during his term as Senator.}]

VIII Thou shalt not steal, until you've been elected to public office. Only then is it acceptable to take money from hard-working, successful citizens and give it to those who do not work, illegal immigrants, or those who do not have the motivation to better their own lives. [TNM: The source here is an article from American Vision by Gary DeMar.  Although written during the campaign, it discusses the ways Obamanomics planned to steal from the rich and corporations {thus ultimately you and me} to pay for his socialist dreams.  Congress in general and Democrat Congresses in particular, have been doing this for decades.  {The American Dream is near extinction thanks to Liberals and Democrats.} No matter what they claim, they do in effect 'steal' from the average taxpayer to pay for their socialist dreams.  We have little or no input into such grandiose plans.  Witness, for one example the travesty of the War on Poverty:  Trillions spent, and we're pretty much right where we were when it started---if not in worse shape from some points of view.  And of course, who can forget all the PAC money, campaign 'contributions', fund raisers, under-the-table payments, influence peddling, pork projects, and other intrigue from the boys and girls in the House.  And don't forget that many of the 45 million uninsured for health purposes are illegal aliens, and they're the ones to receive free health care from the wallets of you and me.]

IX Thou shalt not discriminate against thy neighbor unless they are conservative, Caucasian, or Christian. [TNM: The source is an article in American Conservative Daily by John Lilipop.  While tongue-in-cheek, it presents numerous examples of the left wing view, and it refers to recent pronouncement from Janet Napolitano and Homeland Security about extremism.  It seems that the various tea parties {Peopled mostly by Christians, Jews, and Protestants of all denominations---you know: average Americans against the socialistic government} against the unconscionable taxes and socialist-ing by the Obama administration are considered radical and extremist.  Black race riots are not.  Abortion is not.  But anything two or more Conservatives do together is probably extremist.  Remember the call from Hillary about the 'vast right wing conspiracy.'  Don't disagree with a Liberal---especially Obama; it would make you an extremist and radical to be beaten down.]

X Thou shalt not covet because it is simply unnecessary. I will place such a heavy tax burden on those that have achieved the American Dream that, by the end of my term as President, nobody will have any wealth or material goods left for you to covet. [TNM: From Lee Cary of the American Thinker back in April of 2008, we see in detail some of the calculations based on Obama speeches and claims.  According to his claims, corporate CEOs earn anywhere from $400-$500 million per year!  That's right.  That's what he claims.  You only have to do the math for his claims.  So naturally, Obama wants to confiscate most of that to pay for his socialist plans and wish to 'redistribute the wealth'---though how remains to be seen. {Time for another Congressional pay raise.}  I used to own a small business.  At its acme, I had two full time and two part time employees.  When the end of the year arrived, and I checked my books, the two full time employees were making more than me.  With health care, unemployment insurance, large rent, and state and local taxes, I couldn't make it a go on a longtime basis.  My clients wouldn't pay higher fees.  If I hadn't sold the business, I'd have been driven into bankruptcy.  And that is what will soon be happening to millions of small business under the Obama blanket.  But the welfare recipients will be fine.]
To which I might add XI:  Thou shalt run for high office and hide thy foreign birth certificate.  [TNM: The question of Obama's birth certificate is an important one, and one which demands an answer.  Unfortunately, Obama won't give us one.  Doesn't it seem strange that for the highest political office in the land we don't insist that candidates meet the minimum requirements as set forth in the Constitution?  The refusal of Obama to meet such a reasonable demand casts a shadow over his Presidency and our oversight of the Presidential race.  Carl Andrews in the American Conservative Daily notes:  “On January 21st, 2009, his very first day in office, Barack Obama implemented and signed into law Executive Order 13489.  For those of you who can't take the time to read it. here is the section that applies:  “Sec.2-Notice of Intent to Disclose Presidential Records:  When the Archivist provides notice to the incumbent and former Presidents of his intent to disclose Presidential records pursuant to section 1270.46 of the NARA regulations, the Archivist, using any guidelines provided by the incumbent and former Presidents, shall identify any specific materials, the disclosure of which he believes may raise a substantial question of executive privilege.” Now for all of you who commented on our previous articles that we were no more that right-wing nut jobs, that this thing about Obama's birth certificate was a non-issue, and those of you who tried to shift the focus of the stories, doesn't this strike you as just a little odd?  That the first order of business Obama took care of on day one of his Presidency was to sign off on an Executive Order that states that only the records he chooses to be made public will be released?”  TNM: It's quite easy in Hawaii to get a certificate of live birth {if you're there to apply for it you must be alive!}---but a real birth certificate?  Even an Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine, and Coast guard wannabe has to provide his birth certificate to be accepted.  So do the children wanting to enter first grade.  But for President Messiah?  Heavens no.]

Some more random thoughts from me and various news sources---especially in case you missed them the first time around.  The socialist takeover of our Country seems destined to continue unabated unless we all wake up and do something.

I think if Obama were President during WWII, he'd have declared victory at the first sinking of a Japanese ship, and turned to other pursuits.  Of course, he'd have lost the war and opened up our country to disaster, but why care?  His march to socialism would have been more important to his administration [in its dying days.]

Instead, it is using the money to hire additional field inspectors to help discipline pilots who step out of line, according to a report in Tuesday's Washington Times.

Per D Morris: "Since he has taken office, the president has: 1 Announced closure of Guantanamo; 2 Declined to prosecute the mastermind behind the USS Cole bombing; 3 Closed all overseas CIA interrogation centers; 4 Appointed an Attorney General and Justice Department officials on record as opposed to the use of "enhanced" interrogation techniques in terror investigations; 5  Granted Al Arabia television his first news organization interview and called Fatah Party leader and PA President Mahmoud Abbass in his first phone contact with any foreign leader; 6 *Now, with no strings attached, the president has allocated $20.3 million in "post-conflict humanitarian aid" to "Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza.  The additional funds bring to $60 million U.S. aid commitments in Gaza." Cloud:  Just hours after North Korea launched a long-range rocket, President Barack Obama called for "a world without nuclear weapons" and said the United States has a “moral responsibility ” to lead the way, as the only nation ever to use them."  [I guess in our cultural, the police should be shedding their weapons and try to talk kindly to criminals.]

Per Fox News: "Two House Judiciary subcommittees convened Thursday to examine allegations of unconstitutional immigration enforcement tactics -- and took target practice at Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona, whose controversial methods have been called racist by activists and Democratic lawmakers. *But Arpaio didn't defend himself on Capitol Hill. He did not testify to the committee and he did not attend the joint hearing. That's because the Maricopa County, Ariz., law enforcement chief wasn't invited, said House Judiciary Committee sources."  [By the way, Sheriff Arpaio is simply enforcing existing laws---but when did that matter to members of Congress.]

Per William Welch: "Studies by two conservative think tanks estimate immigrants in the United States illegally could take 300,000 construction jobs---or 15% of the 2 million jobs that new taxpayer-financed projects are predicted to create." [Most of the others will go to state and federal agencies.]

Per NewsMax: "The Environmental Protection Agency put hundreds of mountaintop coal-mining permits on hold Tuesday, saying it wants to evaluate the projects' impact on streams and wetlands."  [Never mind the effect on jobs or energy.]

Per Dennis Prager on Townhall: "...It [Obama Stimulus Package 1] is, as Robert Rector---identified by the Times of London as one of the architects of Clinton's 1996 reform bill--- [said] a welfare spendathon that would amount to the largest one-year increase in government handouts in American history. *It [Obama Stimulus Package 1] is the reason the Obama-supporting Newsweek headlined on its cover page 'We are all socialists now.' *It [Obama Stimulus Package 1] is why, in the words of The Times of London, Republicans are not alone in fearing that Obama's hastily concocted package is the first step towards the creation of a quasi-socialist welfare state."  We can only guess about and fear a Stimulus 2.

The Obama administration---with the aid of Al Gore, most Liberal tree huggers and band wagon users, and Liberal scientists on a mission---is bent on destroying more than just our culture.  The entire Global Warming hysteria is Liberal made.  They find it easy to take natural occurrences and blame everything on man and culture so they can take control and screw thing up.  Warming and cooling is natural and to be expected.  If the Liberals were in charge millions of years ago, the dinosaurs would have been taxed nearly out of existence for their methane production; and then the comet or asteroid would have destroyed the Liberals and made it all moot?  Besides, recent figures indicate a steady global cooling.

We have the energy sources to be self sufficient, but the Obama and the Democrats won't let us use them.  They won't let us build safe nuclear plants and clean coal and oil plants, and they won't let us search for and recover our own oil.  I'll bet when the Muslims take over that'll change.  They'll drill everywhere and anywhere to find oil to sell to the World.

To steal a phrase from a popular song, “And the beat goes on.”  It does go on and on and on.  The Obama administration is giving us change alright.  It's systematically destroying our country, our finances, our prestige, our culture, and our freedoms.  Among other things, Obama wants to take the best medical system in the world and bring it down to European standards.

Obama's government takeover of private businesses is blatant socialism meant to destroy the free marketing system.  He's taxing everything that moves, running our debt up by the trillions, and claims he's 'saving' the Country from the Bush Administration.  Hogwash!  If the Democrats hadn't been leading the charge in Congressional over-spending, handouts, and socialist leanings for the past 50 or 60 years, we might not be in this mess.

And I resent Obama's claim of 47 million uninsured for health purposes.  In that made-up figure are about 12 million illegal aliens; about 18 million who can afford it but don't want it; about 9 million who are between jobs and only temporarily uninsured; about 3 million low income persons who simply haven't been using current government assistance; about 8 million young adults who still have their childhood 'I'm indestructible' attitude towards health insurance; and finally about 8 million children who are covered by their parent's insurance policies but don't have their own. [??]

Those figures add up to more than 47 million because of double counts.  Now, do you really want to enact Obama's Healthcare Deform and ruin the World's best health care system just to cover illegal aliens?

Is any of this a surprise to sane Americans?  Warnings about these socialist plans to be found in an Obama administration were given constantly during the Presidential campaign.  Yet, the amateur Obama was elected.  How?  Some Democrats always vote for the Democrat no matter who he is or what he might do.  Others believed the palpable nonsense of Hope and Change his Teleprompters spouted.  [Well, they got it alright.]  Others didn't like McCain.  And sadly, others voted for him simply because he was black.  Yes, they are racists.  It's a fact and should be considered.  So, now we all suffer from a self-bloated and grossly interventionist government. 

This tragedy can be traced to the interventionistic Democrats in Congress, especially from 2006 to the present.  Notably among the disaster-meisters are Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, John Murtha, Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid---and that's just the tip of the iceberg. 

Are we headed for a revolution?  Possibly.  Who knows? 

We have to keep fighting the current Congress and President.  In 2010 we should remove all 435 House members and a third of the Senate.  In 2012, we should put a Conservative in the White House to start cleaning up the mess and replace another third of the Senate.  By 2014, we can vote out the remainder of the Senate and hopefully be on our way to some semblance of order.

Our economy is in the abyss for many reasons, not the least being [the predominantly Democrat] overspending for the past 50 years.  Of course a major reason is the Democrats' [notably Rep Barney Frank and Sen Chris Dodd] forcing the banks and financial institutions to create dangerous loans.  But who will recognize the truth when they can fall back to the easy blaming of George Bush and his 8 years as President?  He made some mistakes, for sure.  But I think he could do a much better job than recent Democrat candidates for his office, including St Barack Hussein O. 

And the history of our economy and free market system would give obvious solutions to our current problems.  Does President Obama and his administration not know history?  It seems so.  They are repeating all the bad decisions from the past, and they expect new results.  The are creating socialist positions that have been proven not to work.  Alfred Einstein once defined insanity as "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”  That's the exact problem with the Democrats.  They never learn.  Or remember Winston Churchill: "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

I wrote this several months ago.  Sadly, it's still true in fact.  The President's administration is leading us down the road to oblivion.

There are increased efforts to gain access to PO's birth records.  PO has issued an executive order [day after taking the oath] to prevent any release of records pertaining to PO that he doesn't approve.  And his school and other records are being secured by the institutions involved.  But think about it.  If he was born in Kenya, a claim that seems increasingly likely to be proven, then he isn't a citizen!  And that makes him an illegal alien!  And that is evident with his policy over border security.  Imagine that, an illegal alien as President.  Thank you Democrats.

Per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, back in October, the following people are on the Atlanta Police Force:  Keovongsa Siharath [charged with punching his stepfather]; Jeffrey Churchill charged with assault in a a mall parking lot];  Calvin Thomas arrested on a concealed weapons charge.]  All three are now officers with the Atlanta Police Department.

My blog entries have been missing lately because of health concerns I've had to deal with.  I intend to return to posting my blogs regularly.

And as part of patriotic effort to be 'green', I'm going to recycle by heavily editing and updating one of my blogs from two years ago.  Amazingly, the gist of the blog is still quite current.

I'm always amazed at the number of people who respond to the Conservative columns and articles on various web sites.  Indeed, I'm amazed at the passion, vitriol, misinformation, lack of logic,  mis-interpretation of events, and  the ability to create something from nothing.  I speak, of course, of our 'friends' the Liberals.

Tell me please, were they all born like that?  Or was their Liberalism a taught or conscious effort?  I can't understand such continual manipulation of reality coming from a serious person.  So, I must conclude that a genetic flaw or a special kind of insanity must be required to be a Liberal.

I was once read an opinion by Dinesh D'Souza about Liberal myths and radical Islam, and it was followed by over a hundred comments of varying quality, mostly the poorly written Liberal kind.  Perhaps Liberals should be forced to take literacy and intelligence tests before being given keyboards?

What I've learned over the years is that the radical Islamic Arabs don't need any particular reason to hate. Their lives are devoted to misinterpretation, misinformation, hate, murder, racism, mysogyny and the expected 70 virgins each in Heaven after they've killed themselves [I know.  The last two concepts don't really mesh.]  They're taught those things from toddlerhood.  I can't say they're killing an inordinate number of westerners in Iraq with their suicide bombing---some yes, but not as many as the main-stream media would have us believe.  Actually, they're killing mostly fellow Islamic Arabs.  And thankfully, such bombings are in decline.

Tell me now, do the above mentioned activities rate high on the list of anyone's understanding of right and wrong or God?  And for you you pavlovian Liberal reactors, would you like to spend a month living in Bagdad interacting with the populace?

For a moment, let's assume there are 70 virgins in Heaven for each suicide bomber [Though, I'm not sure how many virgin hunks are reserved for the female bombers.]  And it's uncertain where these virgins would come from---but let's skip that problem for this discussion.  If they're [the virgins] in Heaven to glorify God as passed souls are, why would they be interested in some sleazeball, maniacal suicide bombers of men, women, and children?  And won't these bombers be missing a few vital body parts as well?  Bombs do distribute "debris", don't they?  Since they don't believe in our Western concept of the soul, just what part of them is going to be in the hereafter or hereunder?  Is Isis or her handmaidens going to be around to put these suicide bombers back together again?  Why would the goddess want to do it anyway?  Didn't she have enough trouble with her brother Osiris?  [Humpty Dumpty call your office.]

On the other hand, what makes anyone think that such bombers will gain Heaven in the first place?  Is that the kind of Heaven the average Islamic ArabS think exists?  That doesn't seem quite right.  Heaven is Heaven.  Heaven is a reward for good in its many manifestations.  Murderers need not apply.

But one has to wonder as well, why do the so-called peaceful Islamic Arabs permit this pernicious radicalism to continue?  How can we believe that Islam is a religion and not a cult?  How can we believe that Islam has peace in it's message?  It's up to the average adherents of Islam to start showing some common sense, toleration, and a real message of peace.  They need to start actively opposing the radicals.

This farce of a peaceful religion---has been apparent for centuries.

In 1786, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were sent to negotiate with Tripoli's envoy to London, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman or (Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). They inquired "concerning the ground[s] of the pretensions [of Tripoli] to make war upon nations who had done them no injury." The ambassador replied:

"It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every muslim who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. Another thing I wonder about is the philosophical and scientific thought of the Middle East.  Recently, our President spouted the non-existent contributions to our society by the Muslims.  It was laughable, and proves again this Country is being 'led' by a group of amateurs.  Several thousand years ago, some of the Arabic doctors, thinkers and tinkerers were the best in the world.  What happened?  Oh, wait a minute?  The Arabs didn't invade the area until the 7th century.  I forgot.  Anyway, anything modern in the Arab world seems to originate in the West.  Tell me now.  Take away the so-called 'Koran scholars' and what's left?  Where are the Arab thinkers?  Scientists?  Where are the Arab scientific institutes?  The Arab airplane factories?  The Arab think-tanks? International Arab auditing firms?  The sanctioned Arab Women Rights groups? The large scale Arab Food production?  Anyone taste the new Jordanian Cornflakes lately?  

I've got nothing against average Arabs mind you [I like the people, their food, and much of their culture], but their radical brethren have done them a great disservice with their criminal activities, as has their adherence to a violent 'religion.'  As Will Rogers used to say, "I only know what I read in the papers."  And I don't see anything that impresses me about the Middle East lately, even with the Liberal bias in most main-stream media news items.  Besides, you don't have to be among the radical Arabs to be maniacal.  The Iranians aren't Arabs.  In reality, they're Persians---from the name of the country before Iran.  I like the old labeling better.  Yet, they're all Muslims with the associative violent and sexist agendas.  And I wouldn't be holding a beer and hot dog picnic in Iran anytime soon, despite recent reformist uprisings.

Our interest in the Middle East is essentially based on the need for oil.  There's no secret about it.  Our national interests depend on oil.  Our military needs oil.  Our industry depends on oil.  Our farms, homes, and consumer product industries depend on oil.  Gasoline; plastics; chemicals; foods; clothing; paints; inks; aeronautical fuel; pesticides; handheld blackberries; computers; telephones; buildings; swimming pools---Can the Liberals shun all these and other related products?  If they did, we wouldn't have to worry about them. They'd probably lack even the essentials of civilization.  [Though they could still have toilet paper, as long as it's all handmade from dead leaves, and they only use a few sheets at a time.]  The same with all the other Liberals and closet communists around the world.  [Don't worry Ted; scotch isn't made with oil; they use peat for the smoke.]

Alternatives to oil used for energy?  Well, we can't produce more nuclear power because the Liberals keep fighting plant construction.  We can't build more dams for hydroelectric power because the Liberals don't like them either.  And don't put up any windmills near a Liberal's home, they'll spoil the view.  Though a few windmills near Al Gore's home might be a good idea.  Imagine being able to put all that hot air to good use.

Pundits now say that oil is headed for $250 a barrel.  Imagine that?  And still the Liberals call for more windmills, solar power panels, fewer nuclear power plants, and most dastardly, less exploration and use of our own oil and coal resources.  It seems they want the US to fail.

If no oil was to be found in the Middle East, the rest of the world would probably leave the area alone so the radicals could play King of the sand dune and kill one other---as long as they kept it local, no one would be concerned.  But they probably wouldn't.  Exportation of terror seems to be an inborn trait and would probably continue no matter what the circumstances.  [Let's see, 70 virgins times a million or so suicide bombers is about 70 million virgins just for the radical Islamic Arabs themselves.  That's a lot of chastity!]

But, stability in the Middle East is now essential for everyone, and allowing the radical and semi-radical Islamic Arabs to kill each other won't do anyone any good, especially those on the short end of the stick.  So are we there trying to knock some sense into a subjugated people, or to allow them to gain their own freedom and rule with some chance of peace and tranquility for a change?  Haven't we deposed a maniacal leader who has used WMD in the past [against his own citizens?]  Haven't we killed a pile of terrorists who would otherwise be killing people in the US and other countries---even more than they do now?

Is everything going to turn to crapola if we leave too soon?  You bet it is.  $10 gasoline would be the least of our worries.  The Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe would feel the effects of unbridled Islamic terror, and they would have no rights left to ask the US for help as they have so often in the past.  And now our President wants to close Gitmo and foist the dangerous radicals back on the American people with all the rights we thought we had, but which are slowly eroding under the Obama administration.  Along with his apologizing for everything else American, I'm surprised President Obama hasn't apologized for 9/11.

Well King Kong is dead, and the lemurs aren't big enough.  Now, as a parting thought, why don't we move the Liberals to the Middle East where they can have love-ins with the resident maniacs and sleazeballs.  To paraphrase Neville Chamberlain: "We could have peace in our time."

Hi folks.  It's me again.  You know, one from the patriotic and disgusted American populace?  You remember us.  We're the millions of people who disagree with Congress and the President in Washington as they continue to dismantle our Country.  Each day brings us so much closer to collapse, while our PO bows to foreign 'leaders' and gives away the store---including our armament, while sitting idly by while foreign maniacs do their missile tests and continue to defy sanctions.  [Which really don't do any good when you're dealing with maniacal dictators.]  And don't give our PO credit for the rescue of Richard Phillips.  Give it to the officer on site who ordered it.  It was something that he should have been permitted to do immediately.

According to Homeland Security's what's-her-name, pretty much anyone who disagrees with the current dismantling of the Country is a extremist right-wing zealot---and that includes the returning military who are liable to join the radicals.

I know.  This is quite a mouthful.  But OUR servants in Washington should be understanding the concept and pursuing it in law.  They tax productivity highly, and give the funds away to those who don't want to work or are here illegally [and those who don't want to work].  [Don't complain.  I known there are worthy cases for welfare.  I'm not against them.]  If these Congressional spendthrifts can't understand the concept, they should resign their offices.

    - "Never spend your money before you have earned it." Now this is a concept foreign to politicians in Washington.  There efforts can be called: 'Spend all you can now to install socialism and let your grandchildren and great-grandchildren pay the bills.'

Now, let's consider our first president, George Washington.

    - "If the freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led like sheep to the slaughter."  Tell this to those loonies who want the mis-named 'Fairness Doctrine' [---designed to quell conservative radio speech.  The liberals can't draw much of an audience, and thus they go off the air with all sorts of excuses.]  The Liberals and Socialists-in-chief are attacking anyone who voices a problem with this out-of-control administration and claiming them to be 'right-wing extremists', and so identifying any dissident voice as 'radical' and 'dangerous.'  Those clowns in Washington are the dangerous ones.

Let us depart with some words of wisdom from Ronald Reagan, our fortieth President.

    - "Protecting the rights of even the least individual among us is basically the only excuse the government has for even existing." And the least 'individuals' of this country are being sacrificed on the altar of socialism.

    - "Man is not free unless government is limited."  That sounds like a quote from one of the founding fathers, and it says it all.

    - "If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under." And that's where we're headed.  The constant attacks on Christians and any religion other than Islam is running at ridiculous proportions.

    - "To paraphrase Winston Churchill, I did not take the oath I have just taken with the intention of presiding over the dissolution of the world's strongest economy."  Unfortunately, our current PO took the oath with just that in mind.

Big Brotherism is working hard to destroy us.  And, I'm thoroughly disgusted with these current political activities and fearful for our future---if any.  I can't get around like I used to, but if I could I'd be at every Tea Party I could find.

Back in 1980, Robin Williams starred in the movie 'Popeye,' and I thought it was a terrific and funny effort.  I especially noted the unnamed 'taxman' who walked around taxing everything and everybody.  Sound familiar?  Just for a reference, let's take a look at a small portion of the movie dialogue shortly after Popeye enters Sweet Haven.  The taxman bicycled out on the pier before Popeye could light his pipe.

Does that sound a lot like our federal and state tax departments?             

Well consider these recent tidbits from a mostly Democrat-led Congress and State Legislatures.

Federal tobacco taxes went through the roof April 1, basically from 39 cents a pack to $1.01.  Many states are up to $2 a pack, with New York taxing $2.76 per pack.  A friend of mine now says packs here in Connecticut are up to $7 retail.  A newspaper article from a small town in New York says it's over $8, and I'm told it's $9 in New York City.

The federal tax on cigarette-sized cigars went from 4 cents to the $1.01. increasing the retail price accordingly.         

According to Reuters, "State and local lawmakers are pushing taxes on booze, drugs, strip clubs and just about everything under the sun...New York's resident grinch, Gov. David Paterson, tried suggesting a kind of omnibus fun-busting budget that would have taxed New Yorkers for skiing, golfing, camping, being fat, being skinny, going to the movies, going to plays, wearing clothing, going to strip clubs and having more than six fingers or toes. The governor, who is up for re-election next year, came to his senses about three weeks ago and renounced the budget, perhaps when an adviser noted that political contributions aren't tax-deductible.

"Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty has proposed a slew of new taxes...to meet his city's massive deficit. His first target: budget-busting street lights, which Washingtonians will now fund with an extra $51 monthly tax.

Bloomberg news noted that "President Barack Obama is putting former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker in charge of a tax-code review aimed at closing loopholes, streamlining the law and generating revenue, budget Director Peter Orszag said."

Breitbart reports that "President Barack Obama is defending a budget idea that would reduce the tax deduction that wealthier families can take when they make charitable donations...President Obama's recommended reduction in the tax deduction for charitable giving reflects his fundamental belief that only the government can or should help the poor. He wants to keep the impoverished directly dependent on the government -- and the Democratic Party -- for their daily bread."

Again, Bloomberg reports that "the U.S. Senate rejected a proposal by President Barack Obama to finance an overhaul of the nation’s health-care system by limiting the ability of the well-to-do to take tax deductions for charitable contributions."

It's also been reported that the White House said it would launch a search for new tax revenues, as Congressional leaders moved to scale back proposed spending increases and tax cuts in President Barack Obama's ambitious budget.

Now, all you readers who believed in hope and change can enthusiastically start forking over your money to the Obama-ites.  The above aren't the only cases of new taxes or tax increases. 

It all makes one wonder how long it'll be before the taxes exceed our incomes.  Maybe Sweet Haven with all the comic characters wouldn't be such a bad place after all.

Actually, the 'Big O' nomen was first applied to Oscar Robinson, a former NBA star when 'star' was only used to designate true 'stars', and not every player scoring five points in a basketball game.

One of the first things the new President did was to appoint Rahm Emmanuel to chief of staff.  Emmanuel is a harsh partisan, and his appointment as chief of staff had been previously denied by Obama during the campaign.  And of course, we're also supposed to forget his connection with the disgraced Illinois governor, Rod Blagojevich---not to mention Presidential friends and confidants Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers.  Naturally, the Obama administration has denied any wrongdoing or connections.

Mark January 20, 2009 as the beginning of the end of America's superpower status.  Not only that, but an ailing economy will be given a dose of poison.  It's past health will determine how much damage can be done.  The Liberals have pulled the wool over the eyes of the electorate majority, and now we're going to see just how much damage the Liberal/Socialists will do to us.

President Obama says that handing out the AIG bonuses is 'hard to understand.'  I find his comment hard to understand.  During the campaign numerous voices were raised telling all Americans how Obama lacked the experience and executive know-how to run the country.  Being an ego-driven socialist at heart, Obama has added the 'I' to 'run the country' thus creating a phrase 'ruin the country.'

Bonuses are contractual in many companies, and in AIG they're probably going to people who had little or no responsibility for the virtual collapse.  And these are just the people needed to bring the company back to health.  Thus, if Congress is going to tax them 90%, these people might bolt to other companies who actually appreciate their abilities.  Besides, the specific 90% tax is probably unconstitutional.  And it is being put into place to cover the Democrat screw-ups, such as Senator Dodd's amendment 'protecting' the bonuses, and the whole spending spree in general.  If this is a sign of how the 'government ownership' will be plyed, the free market system is in for a beating.

Is it any coincidence that some Europeans are calling for the demise of the dollar as an International currency?  And what is Obama doing while these things are going on?  Bowling, picking NCAA brackets, and appearing on a late night comedy-variety show---surprisingly without teleprompters---thus his spoken gaff?  He's letting his socialist, tax evading appointees to do the dirty work.

Actually, the public should be hopping mad.  Not about the AIG bonuses, but against the billions of $$$ of pork in the spending bills.  That's the real waste in the economy. Not only are $$$ being sent for pork projects, money is going to socialist groups like ACORN---though Obama and friends claim to never have known the group.  Obama worked for them, but he doesn't remember it.  Besides, the current spending spree is very ill advised and not going to solve our economic problems---only expand them.

President Obama is not only spending money like a drunken sailor, but he is presiding over the unconstitutional AIG bonus tax; at least $1 trillion in new taxes---notably on the job and economic providers; a huge deficit and public debt because of the poorly structured 'stimulus' bills, and everything else he and his henchmen touch.

It'll be 2010 before we can do anything about this.  And in that election we can at least make our voices heard in Congress.  But right now, if we got rid of Obama, we'd be stuck with the fumbling ninny, Joe Biden.  And after him is screaming mimi Nancy Pelosi, and then the sometimes incoherent socialist Harry Reid---who needs no other introduction.  We have to go down the list until we reach Joe the Plumber before we can appoint a reasonable person.

It appears the made-for-tv-sale coin dealers are back again with their half truths and misleading statements.  Case in point is the NCM offer of a 1929 Indian Head Proof for $24.45 delivered.  Though the large print says 'Last $5 Indian ever struck by the U.S. Gov't---that is not what you'd be buying.  '...Non-legal tender proof is a classic collectible...'  Maybe, depending on what you're collecting and how smart a collector you are.  These are certainly not real coins nor even completely gold.  The original $5 Indian coin is 90% pure gold, [100% gold would be unworkably soft] while this 'replica' is only gold plated.

The term 'proof' is also bandied about.  However, much as that would indicate a struck coin proof, this is not the case.  Why?  Because this is not a U S coin!  Furthermore I don't know what the NCM uses for research, but I question the statement that '...With its historic importance, scarce population and unique design, it's no wonder that one of the original 1929 $5 Gold Indians recently sold for $34,100!...'  You can get an uncirculated $5 gold Indian [the real McCoy] from the Home Shopping Network for $710, a more realistic price to quote.

Again, the NCM states that '...There is a strict limit of five Proofs per order. Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis...'  I found the same 'gold piece' being offered on at least seven other websites for similar prices.  And I don't remember any of them limiting the purchases to five or any other number.  I don't believe the NCM limitation will be followed.  If you have the money, NCM has the product!  No real limitation.  Just for you, we'll make an exception.

According to my calculations with the current retail price of gold leaf, I've considered one-eighth of a gram of gold leaf per coin.  I sent an email to NCM [1/19/09] asking about the gold content, but I haven't heard back yet [3/09/09.]  In any case, the bulk-buying cost of an 1/8th gram of gold leaf [1 sheet] would be about $6.  So, your '1929 Indian Head Proof' from NCM has about $6 in gold.  Although I saw the piece for sale on Ebay for $60 [I also saw numerous inexpensive books selling for $1,000,000 each!  A matter of listing order on the database, I suppose], most resales should be much lower than $24.45.

And you can't accept any claims that the piece is uncirculated, because it's not a coin, and it would never be circulated in the first place. So, as I noted in my last essay on silver pieces, 'buy the ['1929 $5 Indian Head Proof'] if you want, but don't buy it for use or investment.'

Aren't you sick and tired---as I am---of these tv ads for lawyers?  It seems they'll pounce on anything to make a buck.  You see, according to the legal profession---like the Liberals---no one is guilty of anything.  To the contrary, someone else is always guilty---even if the practice or product in question has been accepted for many years or decades without the dubious advantage of today's Liberal hindsight.

Take cigarettes for an example.  Even as a school kid in the fifties, I knew their use would lead to cancer or breathing problems.  I didn't need a surgeon general or lawyer to tell me.  Everyone I knew who used cigarettes, knew they were dangerous.  But their pleasure outweighed the danger, so they continued.  And, by the way, I liked Joe Camel and he didn't entice me to buy Camels or any other cigarettes.  And I've never seen any positive proof that children were adversely influenced by smokey Joe.  I like Popeye, but I don't buy his canned spinach.  Nor do I buy Mickey Mouse coloring books.

Now we have court cases awarding millions and billions of dollars to 'aggrieved' parties.  If you smoke, you have no business suing the cigarette manufacturers.  You knew the danger.  Just like we know the danger of driving cars on highways; or hunting; or working in the kitchen; or flying; or entering the military; or riding with a Massachusett's senator on a Saturday night near water.

Life is a continuous flow of danger, and we have to make our ways through it with a minimum of damage to live a long life.

Besides, what the lawyers don't tell you is that they'll take at least a third of your award---if any.  So if you win $50,000, you can say good-bye to $15,000 plus the lawyer's expenses.  If you win $500,000, you can do the math.  And the expenses will suddenly escalate to the lawyer's advantage.  Some lawyers will take 40% as a matter of course, so keep your wallets closed.

We have a litigious society simply because the lawyers want it so.  And their Liberal cohorts in office continue to provide opportunities for the public to sue everyone else for real or perceived injuries.  If you haven't got a case, your lawyer will manufacture one from the flimsiest data he or she can find.  All for your benefit?  Sometimes I wonder.  Meanwhile, resulting prices of our commodities and services will increase to cover the spurious awards---not to mention climbing insurance rates.

Remember, the increasing number of lawyers need more and more litigations to pay their bills and give them lifestyles they think they're entitled to.  So, stay in bed and be sure you don't get bed sores.

I keep seeing these tv commercials about feeding the poor children of the World, such as 'CCFund'.  It usually bothers me when I see these sad stories narrated by overweight people.  It seems to me, they should be doing a little sacrificing themselves.  Sally Struthers call your office.

UScoinnetwork.com has an announcer for the Obama commemorative coins who sounds exactly like Obama.  That's no coincidence.  It's a clever c'mon to make the coins to have more of a Presidential connection and sound more momentous than they really are.

There's a tv advertisement for a to-be-nameless [I don't want the firm suing me!] law firm, you know, one of the millions advertising for mesothelioma cases?  One supposed happy client said it all. "They are more than lawyers, they are human beings."  So, I guess lawyers are level 1 and humans are level 2?

I was in a group recently, and several members were extolling the hope and expectations of the Obama administration.  One was so vehement about her support of Obama, I told her she's either still mesmerized by Obamas speaking or else she just drank the 'Kool-Aid.'  I thought that was a fair comment to a Liberal who thinks as Obama does, what with the tremendous, pork-filled expenditure authorization and the poor picks for the cabinet and so much more.

So, in her Liberal way, she immediately attacked me for making a racist statement.  Racist?  Where?  When? How?  Apparently, my mention of 'Kool-Aid' drinking was racist to her.  I'm not surprised that a Liberal would trot out the race card to avoid talking about something substantive---like where are we going with this $12 trillion dollar debt?  Why do Liberals instinctively throw money at a problem?  There's no substantial economic stimulus in the so-called stimulus bill, on top of the bailout, and now with talks about a second stimulus bill.

Shades of Calumet Farm and the trouble created by Bill Lunday in the 1980s!  A once successful, glorious and profitable stable was transformed by his excess living and poor management to bankruptcy and almost to liquidation.  Is that what we can foresee from the Obama admistration and Democrat Congress?

By the way, the 'Kool-Aid' reference harkens back to the Jonesboro tragedy and later use by newscasters, and commentators in general.  According to Wordspy.com drinking the 'Kool-Aid' is "to become a firm believer in something; to accept an argument or philosophy wholeheartedly or blindly."

That's the usual usage of the term.  It's the one I was using.  And you Liberals out there who continually believe that every word out of a Conservative person's mouth amounts to racism better get your minds cleaned of all the hogwash.

A few days ago, the new US Attorney General, Eric Holder, called us all cowards because he believes we don't talk enough about race to each other.  Well, that's not surprising when you consider that most of us can't talk about race because the Liberals are out there calling everybody racists---willy nilly.  And to add insult to injury, you Liberals are constantly lying---yes lying!---to others, Liberal and Conservative, about the truth regarding race relationships over the years.  And we're talking here of blacks and whites, since the current Attorney General is black and most of us are white.  The Liberal purpose?  Why to get black votes, of course.

One vocal black woman is Frances Rice, head of the Black Republican Association.  She recently gave an interview that can be seen and heard on 'You Tube.'  She's saying things that many of us already know.  And it doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure this stuff out either.  Simple understanding of history---true history and not the stuff the Liberals try to foist off on everybody!---will easily lead you to the truth about race relations.
