Janice Shaw Crouse wrote a Townhall column, 'Images From a High School Reunion', and she received few immediate comments.  Yet, her thoughts are similar to those I creditably felt after my last high school reunion, though I didn't have the proud send-off at the end.  She was fortunate to be at an airport to observe and join in on a spontaneous standing ovation for some of our departing troops.  I never had the opportunity to be at the right place at the right time, but I did serve in the Navy and can understand the need and the positive reception of the public approval for the down-and-dirty military.

The military has a hard job under any circumstances:  loyalty to and protection of the United States and its citizens and obedience to the orders coming from superiors [who have more knowledge and training than those below---everybody can't know everything.  Leadership is necessary.] right on up the line to the Commander-in-Chief.  The military goes where told and fights when ordered.  It's a dirty job, but it's needed.  Privates don't know what Generals know.  But, with modern communication, I guess they can be used by Leftist organizations [newspapers; radio; tv; Democrat political party] to criticize government and military policies formulated by those in national political office and military command.  Spouses or parents of dead military personnel suddenly become experts on war, politics, morality, and laws.  They speak loudly and carry twigs to their debates.  Yet, the media eats them up.  They love them.  These people say what the media wants to say, but keeps simmering just under the radar so they continue calling themselves fair.  Sure, like they're the ones who know all the data, all the discussions, all the people, all the personalities, all the right and wrong in the World?

Too many leftists are assigned to Townhall, RedStates and other Conservative sites, to attack all politically, socially, or economically positive or critically appropriate essays in any manner possible.  Dam the Truth!  Full speed ahead!  They even sink so low as to cry 'treacle', 'sugary', and such for essays espousing moral or personal truths evidenced in the real World and related to the eager public.  They don't understand these or many other like essays, they just want to attack in any way.  Just like the Terminator, they will continue to attack constantly and with whatever lies and underhandedness available.  They'll never stop, even when limbless and headless.  They'll keep coming.  They enjoy their madness.  They enjoy attacking, sometimes for attacking's sake only.  No one in the center or slightly right of center, or who's logical, or moral, or in the actual majority can ever be right.  When the right wins, there must be theft or cheating involved.  Contest every election so that the Liberal can win, rightly or wrongly.

The American Public is strong and resilient, and I think the majority will bounce back to fight against the quitters, defeatists, traitors, and haters found among Liberals and Democrats everywhere.  [How is it possible a sane person can be a Liberal or Democrat these days is beyond me.  There can't be much satisfaction in professing lies, hatred, and disinformation on a regular basis.  We have to wonder what seems to be feeding these people, anyway?]  The old-fashioned 'Liberal' has to be feeling mighty saddened to be voting Democrat anymore.

There are too many 'Americans', predominantly leftists, who have no idea what it is to build a country from scratch, maintain its freedoms, and take advantage of its bounties with rightful pride.  They are the ones who would rather live in another place and another era where the government---supposedly their government---administers all things for the benefit of the few in power:  Bill and Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, John Murtha, Jesse Jackson, Charles Rangel, Al Sharpton, Teddy Kennedy, Robert Byrd, etc.

Were the modern Liberals in power in past times, there would have been no American revolution and no United States; or, we would have lost the Civil War to the South, Democrats, and slave owners; or, we would have lost WWI to the Kaiser and his cohorts, thus losing free Britain, France, etc.; or, we would have lost WWII and the same friendly countries, speaking German and Japanese throughout the country, and living in a hel*l-on-earth thanks to the atrocities of these two high commands; or, we would have lost the Cold War to the Communists and have had to knuckle under to their social structure of want, limited freedom, lies, murders, big brotherism, fear of neighbor, etc.  That's what could happen when you spend your life denying truth, backing off from internal and invasive danger, believing foreign lies, misunderstanding other cultures, wishing the US wasn't as free as it is, attacking opponents in any way possible [truth not needed], promoting unworkable socialist ideas, and exercising treachery and sedition.

We won't lose this war---and it is a war, one no longer of ideas alone.  The Liberals should be on notice that they will not take over America and continue to run it into the ground to satisfy their own bloodthirst.  We will not see the Great Experiment tumble into ruin because of treachery from within and invasion from without.  True Americans will still band together to force the truth from politicians and political parties, fight to preserve our freedoms wherever and however threatened---from here or abroad, and to continue building our economic and social strength despite the frantic racism, defeatism, and failing social engineering engendered by the left.
